I’m not sure if this is going to post because I’ve been fighting with my blog for the past twenty minutes or so. But we’ll see!

Yesterday was quite interesting as Aubrey and I ran a bunch of errands. We’ve been trying to find a new garbage can for our kitchen that isn’t disgusting for a decent price, but the search will have to continue. Who knew garbage cans were so expensive? Seems ridiculous to me for it to cost so much just for a place to store trash.

I’ve also been trying to find some new t-shirts as mine are all sad, faded and full of holes. Unfortunately the new trend is for t-shirts to go below your rear. I couldn’t find a single shirt that was a decent length. It’s funny to me because in the past I’ve had a problem finding shirts that are long enough for my freakishly long torso.

It was quite annoying to try on shirt after shirt only to find that they were either way too small or far too long. And I’m pretty sure everyone saw my stomach over and over again. I’d much rather just try things on over my clothes in the aisles than have to carry everything to a fitting room.

Although I did not have to worry about trying on new tall socks. Because everyone knows I can’t ever have enough!

I didn’t even realize it at the time, but apparently I like a certain color scheme.

I was quite lucky that I didn’t recognize anyone as I was playing dress-up in the aisles. Although I did keep running into people I knew elsewhere. First at Wal-Mart, then Target, and then finally Fred Meyer. Funnily enough I ran into Tawnya and family both at Wal-Mart (our first stop) and Fred Meyer (our last). Just goes to show that one-stop shopping is not in either of our vocabularies.

I wasn’t as awkward as I usually am with the other people I ran into, but I still haven’t figured out how to effectively execute small talk.

And I especially hadn’t figured it out Thursday or Friday when Tawnya’s kids had their Winter concerts. It’s still so weird that they are old enough to actually be in a concert! I thought the whole process was ridiculous though. They kept everyone out in the hallway until right before it started and then opened the doors. We were able to weave our way through the people to find seats, but I think there has to be a much better way to do it. I may or may not have been loudly complaining about being treated like cattle. Don’t know if anyone actually heard me though.

That is my nephew Riley before singing with his kindergarten class. So handsome all dressed up!

And then there’s Mara with one of her classmates waiting for their turn to sing.

Trying to keep two toddlers entertained while waiting for the show to get it’s late start was certainly interesting. Especially because they weren’t big enough to keep the seats down. Even when I put both of them in the same seat, it kept trying to flip up.

But as you can see as long as there are Chex to eat, all is well. At least that’s what I can gather.

So to recap: I’m still awkward, I don’t know if I will ever own enough tall socks, children have a way of making me feel old, but Chex will make everything okay.

It’s Monday. That is all.
